June 2022. ETHRA submitted to the European Commission's call for evidence which aims to evaluate the legislative framework for tobacco control, which will include the Tobacco Products Directive and the Tobacco Advertising Directive.

January 2022. ETHRA received an invitation from DG SANTE to participate in a meeting concerning the position of safer nicotine products on the market. The aim of the meeting is to give organisations an opportunity to express their views in the follow-up of several letters and other documentation previously submitted to the Commission.

September 2021. ETHRA submitted to TRIS notification 2021/434/LT, to amend article 9(2) of Law No I-1143 on the control of tobacco, tobacco products and related products. The draft law would prohibit all e-liquid flavours, apart from tobacco, and would apply to non-nicotine containing e-liquids as well as nicotine containing e-liquids.
June 2021. ETHRA submitted to the public consultation on updated rules for tobacco taxation, which aimed to harmonise taxation to include safer nicotine products.

3 June 2021. ETHRA wrote to MPs at the Ministry of Health, Welbeing and Sport, to protest at the proposed flavour ban being forced through parliament. We cautioned against the unintended consequences such an action would have on current vapers, and those who smoke that could benefit from switching to vaping.
